Mr Lawrence Lee is the Chairman, Partner of the Hong Kong and PRC offices of Baker & McKenzie and a member of the Capital Markets Group. He has served as the Chairman of the Asia Pacific Regional Council and a former Executive Committee member of the International Firm.
He is the Chairman of the Process Review Panel for the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), and a member of the SFC’s Takeovers and Mergers Panel and Takeovers Appeal Committee. He is also a senior fellow of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, a Council Member of China Mergers & Acquisitions Association, a senior professional adviser of Hong Kong China Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Hong Kong Housing Society. He is a former member of Hong Kong Trade Development Council's Mainland Business Advisory Committee. He was a member of the Hospital Authority and still serves as the Chairman of their Staff Appeals Committee. He also was the former Chairman of the Hospital Governing Committee of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital.
Despite his management and public commitments, Mr Lee continues to devote substantial amount of time to his practice which focuses mainly in the corporate finance area including compliance and regulatory issues for public companies; the flotation of new companies; mergers and acquisitions of public companies; the establishment of investment funds; and other securities-related practice.
Mr Lee graduated from the University of Hong Kong with an LL.B (1978) and P.C.LL. (1979). He is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong, England and Wales, New South Wales and Victoria.
