The Government has launched a public consultation on ‘Review of Hotel and Guesthouse Accommodation Ordinance’ (the Ordinance) recently with a view to enhancing the licensing regime. The Centre’s weekly analysis gauges how the amendment will affect accommodation supply in Hong Kong and our capacity to receive tourists. The article also suggests the Government to take accommodation-sharing service, which is popular in Europe and now sprouting in Hong Kong, into account while reviewing the Ordinance.
