Offsetting arrangement for MPF is an unsettling issue

There is mounting demand to restrict employers from using their share of Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme contributions to offset employees’ long service payments or severance payments. However, as only long-term staff are entitled to such payments, will we be seeing more short-term labour contracts if the offsetting mechanism is removed?
