Sustainability – key to poverty alleviation

At a recent forum jointly organised by the Bauhinia and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service, representatives of SMEs and large corporations were invited to showcase their efforts in helping the underprivileged, such as rehabilitated offenders, ethnic minorities and low-income families, with asset building through sharing of resources, providing education support and employment opportunities, as well as awareness building. Making reference to the cases shared, this week’s analysis highlights the importance of a sustainable win-win situation where the Government, NGOs, business and individuals can all contribute their part to poverty alleviation.
