The Centre’s analysis this week looks into how the animation industry stimulates the development of economy, tourism, culture and other related industry chains. By making comparison of the industries in the Mainland, Japan and Hong Kong, the analysis intends to explore the market potential of home-made anime and comics. In spite of the proliferation of local productions, there may still be a long way to go before the animation industry becomes a locomotive for the economy.
