The virtual world created by the Internet has been bringing all the convenience and joys to our life. The popularisation of Smartphone has made the real world and the virtual one so inseparable that users become obsessed with the device. The Centre’s weekly analysis examines the current development of the virtual world in Hong Kong, as well as the potential economic value, risks and crisis of the industry. The article highlights physical and mental health problems caused by addiction to the virtual world, and calls for balancing life between the real world and the virtual one.
