Certain human traits may be perceived as undesirable weaknesses. However, such weaknesses can sometimes be used to nudge people towards behaviours that are beneficial to society. Some institutions are also using human tendencies to procrastinate and ‘follow the lead’ to nudge people towards making green choices. How do these strategies work, and how can adverse effects be prevented?
