Meeting on Core Fund, MPF and Hong Kong's retirement protection

Date: 2014-08-13

Time: 3:00pm – 5:30pm

Address:  Bauhinia Foundation Research Centre

Against a backdrop of concerns about the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) system and the retirement protection of Hong Kong, a ‘Core Fund’ option for MPF investors has been proposed in a three-month public consultation launched recently.

As a policy discussion platform, the Bauhinia Foundation Research Centre organised a meeting on 13 August 2014, from 3pm to 5:30pm, for relevant opinion leaders to discuss the proposed Core Fund and the way forward for Hong Kong’s retirement protection. Hosted by the Centre’s Chairman Dr Donald Li and Vice-chairman Lau Ming-wai, the meeting was a valuable opportunity allowing different stakeholders to exchange views on this very important topic.
