Bauhinia Seminar on Rethinking Land Supply Strategy

Date: 2012-03-15

Time: 2:30pm – 5pm

Address:  Leighton Hill Community Hall, G/F, 133 Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley, Hong Kong

Sufficient land supply is part and parcel of a competitive city. However, population growth, rising aspiration for living quality and rapid economic development have imposed challenges to our scarce land resources in the past few decades. Our city is in urgent need of additional land supply in a steady and sustainable manner for long-term development.

Aimed to bring together government officials, professionals, academics and all sectors of the community to address the issue pertaining to land supply strategy, the Centre held a seminar on 15 March 2012 (Thursday), from 2:30pm to 5pm, at the Leighton Hill Community Hall.

Associate Dean (Research) of HKU’s Faculty of Architecture Dr Roger Chan, Dean of School of Business at Hang Seng Management College Professor Raymond So and Associate Head of the Department of Building and Real Estate at PolyU Professor Tang Bo-sin shared their insights into the subject through presentations. They were then joined by Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) Ir Wai Chi-sing at a discussion panel facilitated by the Centre’s Adviser Ir Dr Otto Poon.

*The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese with simultaneous interpretation into English being provided.
